A request is sent to the external processing apparatus to perform at least part of the process. The external processing apparatus is caused to perform at least part of the process in such a manner to control a function of the information processing apparatus from the outside, in the event of determining, based on the held information, that a request received from the external processing apparatus is authenticated as corresponding to the sent request.
