A system for determining gas content in an enclosed atmosphere (6) is provided. The system for determining gas content includes a window unit (2, 4) having an enclosed atmosphere and an oxygen sensing material (8) disposed in the enclosed atmosphere. The oxygen sensing material detects a level of oxygen in the enclosed atmosphere. A non-invasive sensor (10) reads the oxygen sensitive material to determine the level of gases within the enclosed atmosphere.
