PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which is reduced in the fear of the release of a transparent polymer film from a birefringence layer and is also reduced in the dispersion in the phase difference of the birefringence layer.

SOLUTION: This optical film is produced by the orientation of a laminated film comprising the birefringence layer which has been formed by applying a polyurethane-based resin solution to the surface of a transparent polymer film layer, to form an adhesive layer, and then applying a non liquid-crystalline polymer to the surface of the adhesive layer.
