<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for internal combustion engine in which the thick portion and the thin portion of an iron core cover are structured as separate bodies. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil for internal combustion comprises a first coil, a second coil, a center iron core arranged in the inner side of the first coil so that the first coil and the second coil are magnetically connected to each other, a side iron core arranged in the outer side of the second coil, and an iron core cover having arc-drooped walls which are drooped along a loop section placed on the upper surface of the side iron core and the inner periphery of the side iron core and which are opposingly arranged so that the center iron core is sandwiched between the walls. The first coil, the second coil, the center iron core, the side iron core, and the iron core cover are buried under an insulating material for carrying out insulation from high voltage. The ignition coil transmits high voltage generated in the second coil to an ignition plug. Since the loop and the arc-drooped wall of the iron core cover are structured as separate bodies, the mobility of resin is improved at the time of molding and it is made possible to improve a yield at the time of the injection molding of the iron core cover. Further, it is possible to ease internal stress caused by heat generation at the time of operation by using a material whose detachability from insulating resin is excellent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
