PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a module type electronic device which can surely discriminate respective functional modules without setting a complicated address number and also without using an adder circuit and a comparator circuit and is flexibly adaptable to the increase and decrease of the functional modules. SOLUTION: In the module type electronic device which constitutes one electronic device by a control module 1 having a CPU 10 which performs arithmetic processing and a plurality functional modules 2-5 connected to the control module and having input/output circuits 20-50 which communicate with the CPU, the control module 1 is provided with a plurality of control signal lines 11a-11d for communicating with the input/output circuits of the functional modules, each functional module is provided with data buses 22, 32, 42, 52 which connect the input/output circuits with one of the control signal lines and intermediate connection lines 23a-23c which connect other control signal lines of the control module with the input/output circuits of other functional modules.
