A method for producing an organic fertilizer is provided to facilitate sterilization upon mixing quicklime with organic waste materials, while preventing generation of a booming sound at the same time. A method for producing an organic fertilizer comprises: a selecting step in which foreign materials are removed from organic waste materials, followed by crushing; a stabilization step in which the organic waste materials, from which foreign materials are removed, are mixed with moisture-absorbed quicklime to cause the surface of the organic materials to be coated with quicklime; a crushing step in which the quicklime mixed with the organic materials are dry crushed, and sludge is removed therefrom; and a drying step in which the quicklime mixed with the organic materials is dried. In the method, before the stabilization step in which the organic waste materials are mixed with quicklime, the quicklime is exposed to the atmosphere so that moisture in the atmosphere is absorbed into the quicklime to perform a primary thermal reaction. |
