GATE DRIVING CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A gate driving circuit and a display device having the same are provided to prevent an operation error of the display device by suppressing an abnormal gate-on signal during a gate-off period. A gate driving circuit includes plural cascaded stages, each of which includes a pull-up portion, a pull-down portion, a discharge portion, and first and second holding portions. The pull-up portion(210) receives a first clock signal and outputs the first clock signal as a gate signal in response to a signal on a first node, which is changed up to a high level according to a first input signal. The pull-down portion(220) discharges the gate signal in response to a second input signal. The discharge portion(230) discharges the first node signal in response to the second input signal. The first holding portion(242) maintains the first node signal at the discharge gate signal level in response to the first clock signal. The second holding portion(244) maintains the first node signal at an off level of the first input signal in response to the second clock signal. An aspect ratio of a transistor in the second holding portion is greater than that of the transistor in the first holding portion.
