<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system in which a receiving side signal error rate is optimum and high-speed transmission is possible when an optical signal is made incident on multi mode fiber from single mode fiber with an almost zero offset amount, and a higher-order mode eliminating device is installed at an outgoing side to perform optical transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The single mode fiber 20 is connected to an incident side of the multi mode fiber 10 so that optical axes may almost coincide with each other, the higher-order mode eliminating device 30 is provided at the outgoing side of the multi mode fiber 10, and an optical signal is transmitted from a transmitter 40 to a receiver 50 through the higher-order mode eliminating device 30. In addition, the higher-order mode eliminating device 30 is provided with an adjusting means, and the adjusting means adjusts the error rate of the optical signal so as to be optimum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
