PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow arrival at the destination with reduced traveling cost. SOLUTION: A route search changeover point is set for each predetermined section on a guidance route. A fuel consumption theoretical value indicating the theoretical value of fuel cost for each section on the guidance route and a fuel consumption past record value indicating the past record value of fuel costs consumed by the actual traveling of the section, where the vehicle is positioned, are calculated. It is then determined whether the fuel consumption theoretical value of the section where the vehicle is positioned is larger than the fuel consumption past record value (S402); and when it is determined that the fuel consumption past record value is larger than the fuel consumption theoretical value, route re-search for a guidance route to the destination is performed so that the traveling cost becomes minimum (S410).
