PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the background density of an image from being outputted while the density becomes different on front and rear sides when reading both sides of a document. SOLUTION: When reading both sides of the document, the background information of a read image on each of the front and rear sides is detected and based on either one background information, image processing for the background of the read image is performed.
