METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING AND MANUFACTURING INORGANIC INSULATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for inspecting the baked state of an inorganic insulator dispensing with the sampling of the sample (test piece) of an insulating layer, capable of accurately detecting the foam producing state of the insulator in a short time by an extremely simple method and capable of suppressing the production of air bubbles by a simple method.

SOLUTION: In the method and apparatus for inspecting and manufacturing the inorganic insulator constituted by baking the insulating layer comprising an inorganic insulating material such as a ceramic or the like on the surface of a cylindrical pipe 1, the reflectivity of light from the surface of the insulating layer 2 after baking is measured, and the measured reflectivity and the state of the air bubbles 4 in the insulating layer 2 are preliminarily allowed to be related with each other. The mixing state of the air bubbles 4 formed in the insulating layer 2 is estimated from the measuring result of the reflectivity.
