PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of smoothly and efficiently executing an event notice from the Internet side to a LAN side without the need for changing the setting of a firewall or the like. SOLUTION: An event relay server apparatus 2 receives event information from an event notice apparatus 3 and receives a request of the transmission of the event information from an event receiving apparatus 1. When receiving the request, the event relay server apparatus 2 determines whether or not the event relay server apparatus 2 receives the event information for the event receiving apparatus 1, and when the event relay server apparatus 2 receives notice information (event information) for the event receiving apparatus 1, the event relay server apparatus 2 generates a reply including the event information. When not receiving the event information but receiving the event information before a lapse of a prescribed period of time, the event relay server apparatus 2 responds to the reception of the event information and immediately generates the reply including the event information, and when the event relay server apparatus 2 does not receive the event information even after the lapse of the prescribed period of time, the event relay server apparatus 2 generates a reply denoting the absence of the event information, and transmits the generated reply to the event receiving apparatus 1 via a router apparatus 5.
