PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail device in a car of an elevator permitting easily drawing of an arm of a child, even if the arm is inserted between a handrail and the wall surface of a cage. SOLUTION: This device comprises the handrail 2 which is fixed via a fixture 3 so as to be along the wall surface of the cage and maintain a gap to the wall surface, and a plate body 4 installed on the rear side of the handrail or the wall surface of the cage opposing to the handrail and made of a material with a small coefficient of friction. Grooves are formed longitudinally on the upper/lower parts of the rear side of the handrail or the wall surface of the cage opposing to the handrail while projections are formed on the upper/lower ends of the plate body engaging with the grooves of the upper/lower parts of the rear side of the handrail or the wall surface of the cage opposing to the handrail.
