PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging auxiliary tool and a packaging machine, the packaging auxiliary tool being itself capable of unclosing the top-opening of a bag, requiring no special opening mechanism for unclosing the top-opening of a bag. SOLUTION: The following machines/equipment are provided: a packaging machine proper 2; a packaging auxiliary tool 20 which is attached to the packaging machine proper and performs assisting operation of feeding articles to be packaged into packaging bags 18; an elevating mechanism 7 that moves the packaging auxiliary tool up and down; and a packaging bags holding instrument 14. It is so arranged that a descent regulatory member is provided on the packaging machine proper so as for the stopper member of the first arm 22 of the packaging auxiliary tool 20 to be engaged with the descent regulatory member, and the mounting part of a second arm 21 is fixed to the elevating mechanism, with the respective arms being hung, as they remain opposed to each other, onto the packaging machine proper, while, at the time when the second arm is hoisted by the elevating mechanism, the first arm is made to approach close to the second arm so that an annular ring is kept suspended, after which, with the ring suspended, the first arm is made to descend so that the guide claw of the first arm is inserted into the top-opening of a packaging bag while the stopper member is locked at the descent regulatory member bringing the fall of the first arm to a halt on the way so as for the annular ring to be retained horizontal.
