PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems concerning the deflection of the movable platen of a mold clamping device comprising a toggle mechanism by a simple mechanism which can be fitted directly, or by working an opposite surface to a fixed platen, to the movable platen of a conventional injection molding machine with no special measure against the deflection of its movable platen taken without making the structure of the movable platen complex and to provide the mold clamping device which makes a movable mold almost free from the affection of the deflection of the movable platen. SOLUTION: In the mold clamping device 11 of an injection molding machine which clamps a mold by moving the movable platen 19 fitted with the movable mold 18 in relation to the fixed platen 15 fitted with a fixed mold 14 by the toggle mechanism 20, a correction plate 30 protruding from the opposite surface 19c to the fixed platen is set in the middle of the movable platen 19.
