The present invention relates to a novel method for the preparation of a solid dosage form of perorally effective peptide, preferably desmopressin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, comprising providing a said peptide containing granulate suitable for compression to a pharmaceutically acceptable tablet, as well as to solid dosage forms, preferably tablets, obtainable by said method.
