The basket for catching stones (6) from a human body, e.g. gall stones and kidney stones and the like, has a number of wires (2a,2b) forming a basket section and take up a basket shape when drawn out of a holder (4). A distal head piece (3) holds the distal wire ends (5a,5b). The head piece has a nominal fracture characteristic to release the distal wire ends when subjected to an overload force (Fu). |
