<p>The present invention relates to a new type of hearing aid with a housing for accommodation of a signal processor for processing an audio signal into an audio signal compensating a hearing loss and a receiver that is connected to an output of the signal processor for converting the processed compensated audio signal into a sound signal, and wherein the housing is adapted to be positioned in the ear canal of a user without obstructing the ear canal leaving a passageway between a part of the ear canal wall and a part of the housing so that sound waves may escape from behind the housing through the passageway to the surroundings of the user and having an output port for emission of sound towards the eardrum of the user when inserted in the ear canal, and wherein the housing is attached to an elongate member adapted for positioning in the pinna and outside the ear canal of the user for retention of the housing in the ear canal.</p> |
