A system and a method for designing a crane are provided to enable a worker having insufficient learning for crane design specification to generate easily basic design data, reduce a design time, calculate consistent/reliable design data, and quickly calculate the design data even if a basic design of the crane is frequently changed. An inputting device(120) enables a user to input conveniently the data by outputting a control signal according to user manipulation. A storing device(104) stores programs, the design specifications, the design data, the design data calculated from a design process, and the final crane design values by using a database. A crane design module(140) outputs various information providing/controlling screens related to the crane design through a display part(110), displays the crane design values extracted from the database according to the control signal, calculates/outputs the crane design values by loading the data related to the crane specification/data, and stores the crane design values to the database. A main controller(102) performs the crane design by each component.
