An inverse transform module and method for integrated codec are provided to perform inverse transform in at least one codec through a single transform module by redefining inverse transform used differently in each video codec. A first buffer(310) receives pixel values of a block of a predetermined size. An inverse transform unit(320) receives the block in a sub block unit of a first direction, receives codec type information, and performs inverse transform corresponding to the codec type information to calculate a first transform value. A transpose memory(330) stores the first transform value in a second direction. The inverse transform unit calculates a second transform value by performing inverse transform by using the first transform value read in the sub block unit in the first direction.
