[Also in Group IX] A sleeping bag, Fig. 4, is formed from a quilted sheet, the sheet being formed by stitching together two sheets 2, 3 having padding between them and then causing one sheet to increase or decrease in area thereby causing one of the sheets to bulge between the stitching. In one form, the top sheet 2 may be pleated. In another form the lower sheet 3 may be elastic. In a further form the material may contract or stretch permanently under suitable treatment. Instead of stitching, the sheets may be secured by lines of glue. A further sheet may form a lining for the sleeping bag. The sheets may be formed of artificial silk or of a synthetic plastic. |
