<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector that can automatically detect a breakthrough of an adsorbent to enable timely exchange of the adsorbent and detect an adsorbate at a low cost without an expensive breakthrough detector. <P>SOLUTION: A gas adsorption system for removing an adsorbate by treating a gas containing the adsorbate in an adsorber 1 packed with an adsorbent 2, comprises an adsorption detecting material 4 disposed in a gas space 3 at the outlet of the adsorbent 2 and a means of determining the timing of exchange of the adsorbent 2. The timing of exchange of the adsorbent 2 is determined by automatically detecting that the concentration of the adsorbate at the outlet of the adsorber 1 has reached a predetermined level by detecting that the weight increase of the adsorption detecting material 4 has exceeded a predetermined value through a mechanism 6 for transforming the weight increase of the adsorption detecting material 4 into the change of the position of the adsorption detecting material 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
