<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can be miniaturized while using a developing device having a plurality of developer carriers and using magnetic one-component developer, and also can restrain the deterioration of the developer caused by rubbing between the developer carriers. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 has: an image carrier 1d whose surface can move; and the developing device 4d equipped with a developer storage part 40 for storing the magnetic one-component developer, and the plurality of developer carriers, wherein the plurality of developer carriers include two adjacent developer carriers 41 and 42 moving in a reverse direction to each other at the most proximate position, and the amount of the developer on the developer carrier 42 positioned on a downstream side is regulated by the developer carrier 41 positioned on an upstream side in the moving direction of the image carrier 1d out of the two adjacent developer carriers 41 and 42. The apparatus 100 is constituted to perform shifting operation to apply force for shifting the developer to the developer carrier 41 side positioned on the upstream side to the magnetic one-component developer accumulated in the vicinity (SS part) of the most proximate position of the two adjacent developer carriers 41 and 42 when an image is not formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
