PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance organic thin-film transistor with less deterioration, a display unit, and a manufacturing method of an organic thin-film transistor, using a simple process. SOLUTION: This organic thin-film transistor has a gate electrode, a gate insulating layer, an organic semiconductor layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode on a substrate. This organic thin-film transistor has at least two protective layers of a first protective layer for sealing the organic semiconductor layer and a second protective layer, covering a region larger than the first protective layer, and either the first protective layer or the second protective layer contains a light-absorbing material.
