PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of users per server, while maintaining a real-time response in remote household appliance control using network. SOLUTION: The system provided with a control means for controlling a server connected to the Internet, a household appliance, and the like controls a household appliance by the control means according to the request sent via the network and the server from a user's portable phone. The control means carries out an authentication request to the server only at start-up. After authenticating the control means, the server creates a connection log, disconnects communication with the control means, and transmits ping to the control means periodically based on the connection log after that. When the control means satisfies standby conditions, a periodical check by ping is continued. In the case of unsatisfactory result, the connection log is deleted. The connection authentication causing heavy communication load is alleviated to the degree from access units of users to on-off frequency of a power supply, so as to reduce the whole processing operations drastically.
