PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproduction system which is constituted by connecting a content providing device and a content output device through wireless communication and can reproduce content information recorded on recording media such as DVD, the content reproduction system being capable of surely making the content providing device perform desired operation according to remote control operation performed toward the content output device during content reproduction. SOLUTION: The content output device acquires position information on content information being output at present in response to input of control information from an input means, and transmits the position information to the content providing device together with the control information. The content providing device reads the content information out of the recording media based upon the received control information and position information, namely, regards the received position information as reproduction position information of the content providing device to accept remote control keys.
