PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution system capable of suitably controlling distribution of program contents etc. SOLUTION: When a distribution mode is for fast forward distribution, a data server increases a transfer speed, for example, twice as large, encodes a program content shown in Fig.(a) to generate stream data shown in Fig.(b), and distributes them to audio equipment. Audio equipment in a fast forward state, meanwhile, thins out the stream data distributed at the increased transfer speed from the data server as shown in Fig.(c) and outputs a musical piece sound by fast forward reproduction as shown in Fig.(d).
