PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem such that particulate matters in exhaust gas accumulate at an inlet corner portion of a fine passage of a flow-through catalyst and consequently the fine passage is clogged because the exhaust gas from a turbocharger flows in a swirling manner. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification apparatus 4 comprises a casing 5 attached to an exhaust pipe 3 for introducing the exhaust gas G from the turbocharger 2 provided on a diesel engine 1 and the catalyst installed in the casing 5. A gas dispersion plate 9 for uniformly introducing the exhaust gas G from the turbocharger 2 into the casing 5 is arranged at an inlet portion of the casing 5. A rectifier 20 having rectifying holes 21 extending in the longitudinal direction of the casing 5 so as to prevent the swirl of the exhaust gas G is provided between the gas dispersion plate 9 and the flow-through catalyst A disposed adjacently to the gas dispersion plate 9.
