PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can inhibit that an ink cartridge leaves a predetermined installing position and falls off from an apparatus body during printing. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus (sublimation printer) comprises an ink sheet cartridge 50 wherein an ink sheet 51 is held, an apparatus body 80 including a chassis 1 which is detachably loaded with the ink sheet cartridge 50, a taking-out prevention member 27a which is mounted at the outside of the chassis 1 and engaged with the ink sheet cartridge 50 and a lock member 29 which is mounted at the inside of the chassis 1 and locks the taking-out prevention member 27a at printing at least.
