PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide weed growth-suppressing material essentially easing environmentally negative effect caused by chemical herbicides to maintain the environment. SOLUTION: The weed growth-suppressing material is obtained by spraying or mixing mixture containing 5-50 pts.wt. of magnesium oxide-based solidified material as weed growth-suppressing material, 95-50 pts.wt. of soil or sand, gravel, artificial aggregation and a coloring agent, adhesive paste or a water-reducing agent, and shrinkage reducing admixture for cement additive as a filler, and polymeric fibers or inorganic fibers as reinforcing material, on the surface of the soil or with the soil, and adding water to the mixture to solidify the mixture.
