The device has multiple combustion chambers (9), where a combustion chamber is connected with an inlet channel (15) by an intake valve (16) during an opening duration by opening the intake valve and again locked afterwards by closing the intake valve. An auxiliary valve (25) is arranged upstream to the intake valve releases or locks the inlet channel. An exhaust port (8) is connected with a dead volume (52) by an exhaust gas recirculation (50). The dead volume is arranged in the inlet channel between the auxiliary valve and the intake valve. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion piston engine load control method.
