CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT, AND DRIVE SHAFT AND DRIVE WHEEL BEARING USING THE SAME

A constant velocity universal joint whose outer ring and inner ring are adapted to be simply produced to reduce cost of the joint. The constant velocity universal joint has the outer ring (10) having axially extending track grooves (12) formed in a spherical inner peripheral surface (14) of the outer ring, the inner ring (20) having track grooves (22) formed in an outer peripheral surface (24) of the inner ring and extending axially, forming a pair with the track grooves (12) of the outer ring (10), balls (30) interposed between the track grooves (12) of the outer ring (10) and the track grooves (22) of the inner ring (20) and transmitting torque, and a cage (40) interposed between the spherical inner peripheral surface (14) of the outer ring (10) and the outer peripheral surface (24) of the inner ring (20) and holding the balls (30). The track grooves (12, 22) of the outer ring (10) and the inner ring (20) are formed by cold forging finish, and each track groove (12, 22) has rounded chamfers continuously extending from the groove to both side edges of the finished end of the groove.
