VALVE ELEMENT PORTION AND GATE VALVE DEVICE

A valve element portion and a gate valve device which can reduce manufacturing costs through a small and simple structure and can rotary drive a valve element smoothly without moving it significantly in the center of rotation direction. When the valve element portion (52) is rotary driven by a valve element drive mechanism (54), the rotary drive radius (R2) on the opposite end sides of a first valve element portion (56) in the longitudinal direction becomes smaller than the rotary drive radius (R1) on the central side of the first valve element portion (56) in the longitudinal direction. Since a part of the valve element portion (52) does not touch (interfere with) a sidewall even if the sidewall is formed on longitudinal outside of the carry-in/carry-out opening (46) of the housing (44), the valve element portion (52) can be rotary driven by simply moving it in the center of rotation direction of the valve element portion (52) slightly without moving it significantly in its center of rotation direction.
