<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device with a slim structure capable of inhibiting waste generation. <P>SOLUTION: An AF unit 10, as one embodiment of the drive device, includes: two strip-shaped piezoelectric elements 12 for generating bending displacement by application of a drive voltage; a lens carrier 14 as a driven body in a roughly H-shaped flat form; a guide 16 for engaging with the lens carrier 14; and a unit case 18 for accommodating them. The piezoelectric elements 12 are driven by a control unit 10A as a power supply. The control unit 10A causes the piezoelectric elements 12 to generate bending displacement that protrudes in the direction for moving the lens carrier 14 at the displacement speed not for moving the lens carrier 14, thereafter performing the release or reversal of the bending displacement of the piezoelectric elements 12 using an inertial force then generated on the piezoelectric elements 12 at the displacement speed for moving the lens carrier 14 in a predetermined direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
