PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently operate an engine by identifying a surging limitation.

SOLUTION: The engine 1 having a supercharger 40 including a compressor 41 having a plurality of blades 45 on a shaft of a turbine 42 and the turbine 42 comprises at least one index 44 provided on the shaft of the turbine 42 or the blade 45, a turbo angular velocity sensor 62 detecting rotation of the index 44 and rotation of the plurality of blades 45, the sensor being connected with an ECU 60, and a turbo angular velocity computing means computing an angular velocity by obtaining a plurality of pulses per rotation of the turbine shaft.
