<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide proper restoration of a device from an energy-saving mode to a normal mode. <P>SOLUTION: At activation of the device 110, a Web server 303, a CGI 304, and HTML data 306 for message notification stored in an HDD 2004 are loaded into a RAM 2002 from the HDD 2004. If there is an HTTP access request to the device 110 from a client P 101, it is determined whether or not the HDD 2004 is in operation on the basis of a device status flag D 309 stored in the RAM 2002. If the HDD 2004 is not in operation, the device 110 accesses to the Web server 303 stored in the RAM 2002. In accordance with processing carried out in the Web server 303, the HTML data 306 for message notification is returned to the client PC 101, and a simple reply is carried out with respect to the request from the client PC 101. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
