PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a resolution feeling relating to a subject image and to suppress a noise of the photographed image. SOLUTION: Image information of a plurality of images obtained by changing an image formation state in an image pick-up element having a plurality of pixels is compared for each pixel or each pixel region, and a content of a signal processing for the photographed image is changed in response to a change of the image information obtained as the comparison result. A noise suppression processing is weakened in a portion which is determined as a pattern portion of a subject based on a magnitude of the change of the image information, and the noise suppression processing is strengthened in the other portion, so that both noise suppression of the photographed image and retention of the resolution feeling of a pattern of the subject are achieved.
