PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable rudder angle steering device capable of detecting a steering torque without allowing a torsion bar to be concentrically arranged with a steering input shaft, also to provide its steering torque detection method, and further to provide an automobile. SOLUTION: The variable rudder angle steering device is provided with a first stage planetary roller mechanism 20 and a second stage planetary roller mechanism 30 whose sun rollers are connected with each other, the steering input shaft 3 connected with the carrier 23 of the first stage planetary roller mechanism 20, a steering output shaft 4 connected with the carrier 33 of the second stage planetary roller mechanism 30, and a reaction force detection device which detects reaction force generated at the ring roller 24 of the first stage planetary roller mechanism 20.
