PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drying efficiency and reduce electric power consumption by reducing heat quantity released from a heating means, an airflow passage to which air is blown by a blower, an outer tub or the like, and to provide a washing and drying machine with low noise. SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine has a washing and spin-drying tub 5, an outer tub 3 containing the washing and spin-drying tub 5, an actuator 6 for applying mechanical force to laundry inside the washing and spin-drying tub 5, the blower 18 for blowing air into the washing and spin-drying tub 5, the airflow passage 14 in which the air is blown by the blower 18, a dehumidification mechanism 13 having a heat source 20 and a heat exchanging part for cooling and dehumidifying the air, an inner lid 4 provided on the outer tub 3 for inserting and removing the laundry, an outer frame 1 surrounding the outer tub 3 and the dehumidification mechanism 13, and an outer lid 2 provided on the outer frame 1 for loading and unloading the laundry.
