[Also in Group XXV] In a two-chain scraper of the type in which the flights 10 are held by members 15 serving to join adjacent links of the two chains spaced by the flights 10, the members 15 have unequal legs 13, 14. The longer leg 13 serves to limit pivoting of the member 15 relatively to the flight 10, while the shorter leg 14 reduces the extent by which a disconnected member 15 must be moved to clear a flight 10 to be removed. As shown in section in Fig. 2, the legs 13, 14 are shaped to take into grooves 11 in the flights 10. |
