PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photographed image having a high image quality for a monitoring while ensuring the durability of a mechanism for an optical zoom means. SOLUTION: An imaging device for a monitoring has the optical zoom means and an electronic zoom means. The imaging device further has a zoom changing means (#611) for changing over a zoom means into the optical zoom means from the electronic zoom means, and continuing a photographing without changing a zoom magnification by holding predetermined conditions (#603 to #609) when the photographing is conducted by working the electronic zoom means.
