PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control color into a target color, without degrading naturalness. SOLUTION: Determination means 11 and 14 set an oval control range, around a specified target color, on a color space (for example, color difference plane), and determine whether the color which is based on an input color signal is within a controllable range or not. A control means 12 controls the input color signal so that the color which is based on the input color signal approximates to a target color as a distance from the target color in the color space becomes shorter, if the color which is based on the input color signal is within the controllable range.
