PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat utilization apparatus capable of stably and efficiently recovering power by utilizing waste heat of an internal combustion engine including an exhaust gas recirculation system. SOLUTION: The waste heat utilization apparatus comprises a Rankine cycle 300 in which a refrigerant in the cycle is heated via the waste heat of the internal combustion engine 10 by a heater 310, the heated refrigerant is expanded by an expansion machine 320 so as to recover mechanical energy, and the expanded refrigerant is condensed and liquefied by a condenser 220. The waste heat utilization apparatus includes a gas cooling circuit 50a through which cooling water circulates and a gas cooler 68 arranged in a gas recirculation flow path 62 for returning, as recirculation gas, part of the exhaust gas discharged out of the internal combustion engine 10 from the exhaust side to the inlet side of the internal combustion engine 10. The gas cooler 68 cools the recirculation gas by exchanging heat between the cooling water in the gas cooling circuit 50a and the recirculation gas. The heater 310 heats the refrigerant by exchanging heat between the cooling water flowing out of the gas cooler 68 and the refrigerant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
