PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize maximum thrust forces acting on a bearing cap, in a V-type offset engine in which, when axis lines of cylinders of each bank are offset in relation to a rotating direction of a crank shaft. SOLUTION: In a V-type offset engine in which cylinder axis lines L1, L2 of cylinders 11 of each bank are offset in rotating direction of a crankshaft 13 in relation to the center O of crankshaft, joining surfaces 18, 19 between a bearing cap 15 for supporting rotatably the crankshaft 13 and a cylinder block 10 are formed orthogonal to a middle line C obtained by dividing an angle into equal parts between lines S1 and S2 connecting the centers P1, P2 of pistons 12 at top dead centers of the pistons of each bank and the center O of crankshaft, respectively.
