PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive polymer dispersion which has excellent conductivity and can provide a highly transparent material, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing a conductive polymer dispersion comprises an agitation step in which a mixed liquor comprising a conductive polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 20,000-1,000,000 and a solvent is agitated at a shear rate of 10,000 s<SP>-1</SP>or more using an agitator to obtain a conductive polymer dispersion in which the conductive polymer is dispersed in the solvent.
