PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a verification apparatus which improves convenience, quickness in use in tampering verification. SOLUTION: The verification apparatus includes a retrieval section, a verification section, and a display control section. The retrieval section retrieves a file that becomes a target of tampering verification. The verification section performs the tampering verification on the file retrieved by the retrieval section. The display control section displays, on a display screen, both a progress of the file retrieval by the retrieval section and a progress of the tampering verification by the verification section.
