The invention relates to a method for freezing and storing of cells in a vessel comprising the following steps: a) freezing the cells as a cell suspension down to a storage temperature and b) storing at this temperature, the storing of the cells in the vessel taking place under a gas-tight seal or in an inert atmosphere, characterised in that the cells are recombinant cells.
