摘要 <p>The system has a preceding object detecting section detecting a preceding object or obstacle (WO) position in front of a host vehicle (NS). A steering actuation state detecting section detects a steering wheel`s actuation state. A preceding object avoidability determining section determines a possibility of avoiding the object by steering and reducing a current braking force based on the object position, and vehicle`s running condition, the force and the actuation state. A braking force control section reduces the force when the determining section determines that the object is avoided. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle brake control method.</p>
