The vessel e.g. dish (1), has a steep peripheral wall (3), which changes smaller steepness in an area of its end having an upper vessel edge (6) into an outward folding zone (7), where a size of the outward folding zone is varied along a periphery of the vessel. The outward folding zone of varying size extends over more than half of a circumferential length of the vessel in a vessel circumferential direction. The vessel is made of high-grade steel. An independent claim is also included for a lid of a vessel.
