The sterile compress, sterile raw cloth or sterile surgical instrument has an electromagnetic signal transmitter e.g. transponder and radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip, where the electromagnetic signal transmitter is integrated at, on or in the compress, raw cloth or instrument. The electromagnetic signal transmitter transmits an electromagnetic signal actively or passively, where the electromagnetic signal is accepted by a receiver that is provided outside a human body or an animal body.
